A Polish car-sharing company needed to manage several hundred vehicles and improve their availability to customers. SoftwareHut implemented an AI-based decision engine that monitored the fleet, predicted when vehicles were likely to be rented and sent relocation recommendations to field operators.
AI-Based Fleet Relocation and Customer Segmentation for a Polish Car-Sharing Company
Its operations included vehicle relocation, servicing and customer service. The scale of the fleet made it difficult for employees to assess where individual cars should be placed
AI-Based Fleet Relocation and Customer Segmentation for a Polish Car-Sharing Company
Demand varied between locations. Cars left in areas with lower demand could remain unused, while customers in other areas might have limited access to vehicles.
. Relocations also generated costs. Employees had to assess whether the expected increase in rentals justified moving a car to another locationThe company also needed to identify customer groups, including users whose reckless driving or vehicle damage caused financial losses.
SoftwareHut analysed the company’s fleet management and customer service processes. The project focused on vehicle relocation and customer segmentation.
The AI-based decision engine:
The field operator decided whether to carry out the relocation. The engine supported the decision but did not move vehicles automatically.
Customer segmentation allowed the company to identify users associated with losses caused by reckless driving or vehicle damage and place them on a blacklist.
The recommendations helped place vehicles in locations where they were more accessible to customers. They also supported more cost-effective relocation decisions.
Continuous fleet monitoring reduced the need to manually analyse the entire fleet before each decision.
Customer segmentation supported higher loyalty and profitability and helped identify users whose behaviour caused financial losses.
