An international pharmaceutical group needed to keep snapshots and product booklets current across several e-commerce systems. SoftwareHut developed an unattended Python robot that checks more than 700 products every night and uploads updated files, reducing the time required for major updates from seven days to one.
The client was an international pharmaceutical group managing a portfolio of more than 700 products. Product snapshots and booklets were published across several external e-commerce systems.
Marketing assets changed over time, but identifying outdated files across the full product portfolio was difficult. Employees updated the assets manually and usually only when a specific request appeared.
As a result, the process was performed irregularly. Some e-commerce platforms continued to display outdated snapshots or booklets, which affected product sales.
SoftwareHut developed an unattended software robot using Python.
Every night, the robot:
The process runs without requiring an employee to start or supervise each execution.
The robot checks marketing assets for the entire product portfolio every day. Previously, employees performed updates manually and only when required.
For major updates, the time needed to refresh the assets was reduced from seven days to one day. This represents an 85% reduction in process execution time.
The automated process also allows the client to keep product snapshots and booklets current across its e-commerce channels.
